Materials

-green pipe cleaners and pipe cleaners of your colour choice

-pencil

I really liked this activity because all you need are pipe cleaners and a pencil. I found it a bit challenging at first but I got the hang of it eventually, I think these would be fun to make during the spring or for valentines day. To make the flowers all you need to do is wrap the pipe cleaner in a tight coil around the pencil but leave a little tail at the end. Take the pipe cleaner off the pencil pull the tail through the middle to create a flower shape then bend that tail to connect to a green pipe cleaner as the stem. Then trim the stem to your desired length and you have a flower ready to go. Make a lot to create a bouquet.

Extensions

-Students could create a model garden out of pipecleaners

-Make a pinch pot of air dray clay to put their flowers in

-Students could experiment and create different types of flowers
